To get some perspective on what’s been happening to our forests, read the quote below. Pretty sad, right? Worse still is that even today, rainforests are still being cut down. We can’t seem to learn.

One man, Antonio Vicente, was trying to get people to learn. He warned that if they kept cutting down the rainforest, the water would leave. Sadly, he was right. But he did something unprecedented. Instead of demanding a law or that people be punished for cutting down the rainforests, he took things into his own hands.

Watch the video, and you’ll see what just one man can make happen. All around the world, there are individuals, small groups, and large organizations that are transforming the world. Most are not going through the broken political systems to solve problems. No, they are simply beginning, one step at a time.

Go to Be Inspired and see what might turn you on and get your excited. Join a group, or travel to where young people are making a difference and be a part of this world-wide movement. It’s happening because people around the world are tired of the corporate and political self-centered and short-sighted devastation of our precious resources, waterways, oceans, air, and land. Let’s do this thing!

“The earth is over 4.6 billion years old. Scaling to 46 years, humans have been here 4 hours, the industrial revolution began 1 minute ago, and in that time, we’ve destroyed more than half the world’s forests.” —Greenpeace
